| There are a plethora of resources available right from the start on the noob island. In fact you should spend the time here harvesting your materials before you even head to your chosen mainland, be it Freeport or Qeynos. Here's the reason: In order to fish, gather, forest, mine, or trap in any area outside of the starting few zones you will need a skill level of at least 40 (for Qeynos citizens this would be Antonica). These beginning areas are so overcrowded with people doing exactly that, you'll spend countless hours running around Oakmyst Forest and the Peat Bog competing with 20 other people for a mole rat den. I can not convey how frustrating this is unless you've actually been there. Trust me on this though, build up your collecting skills to as high as you can before you leave the island. You will save a lot of time and frustration in the end. |
