Vanguard updates server merge plan, 30% of players canceled since merge announced

Considering that Vanguard had around 87,000 subscribers when Sigil folded and the game got picked up by SOE, it's fair to say that a good number of cancellations occurred. Since the server merge was announced last month, it seems that subscriptions have fallen off another 30%. In 30 days. At this rate, Vanguard could be dead by Fall 2007.
I often wondered why SOE would have picked up Vanguard, but then I remembered something that a strip club manager named Joe once taught me.
I had noticed that he had been hiring some less than attractive (ugly) girls, and I asked him why. He told me that sometimes when you don't have any gorgeous girls working at the time, you need some around that make your mediocre looking ones look better by comparison.
Vanguard is SOE's ugly chick.
