What was your first job? At "The Athletic House"; it was this locally owned sports shop which was just down the hill from my high school.
What areas within the game have you worked on? Which are you most proud of? What are you currently working on? Honestly I couldn't name all the areas I've had a hand in; it seems like a ton of places. Here are a few: Ca'ial Brael, Leth Nurae, Rindol Field, Ksaravi areas.
I think Ca'ial Brael is the area I am most proud of and the most inspired by. I was sort of set loose by management on that city and I had amazing concept art to start from. Whenever I had an idea for that area, I just ran with it and made it work. I feel like I had a hand involved in every corner of that place and I loved that. Artistically speaking, that was my most gratifying work. Anything organic is by far my favorite stuff to work on.
Currently, we (the art team) are all working on Khal. Optimizing its performance and giving it a much needed make-over.

Do you have any advice for those who wish to work as an artist in the gaming industry? Just be into it! I mean the Art, be into the art. I heard (and sometimes still do) that you have to be a hardcore gamer to be a successful game developer - that's bull - you just have to really want to create things; you have to be able to think on your own and get excited about the possibilities of an area, a character, a city, or whatever. Anyone can be a copy machine and rip off others ideas and concepts (bleh). I think you have to tap into whatever it is that makes you say "Oh, what if we do this.. or what if it looked like this..or, let's try this idea." and get excited about it. You need to be able to get excited about the potential, and if you find that you aren't excited by something, mix it up, try something different. Look up other artists for inspiration (just don't rip anyone off) Just be into it!
What's a fun fact that people may be surprised to know about you? I used to be a bartender with pink hair.
